Board members and owners who attended last night’s town hall meeting voted unanimously to approach the bank for an approximately $66,000 loan to cover the cost of repairing and sealing the pavement in the condo complex. The loan will cover the cost of the paving project – estimated at $33,646 – and will allow the association to consolidate its other outstanding loans. This plan, if financing comes through, would save the association about $350 a month.

The board has agreed to work with C&C Asphalt of Scottsboro to repair the street. The company will demolish the stamped concrete at the entrance of the complex and at the roundabout, replacing it with asphalt. The company will also replace damaged asphalt near the back of the complex and seal the remaining pavement. The result will be a solid black, new driving surface throughout the complex. Once the financing has been settled, the project will begin within a couple of weeks, depending on C&C’s schedule. The paving should take about a week to complete. Throughout the project, cones and barriers will be placed to prevent residents from driving on wet pavement, and the company will ensure that one lane of the drive remains open for local traffic.

The board will be able to provide more specifics about the project as we move forward. Another town hall meeting will be called once Accountant Linda Kincer has spoken to the bank. At that time, the board will present the financing options and will determine if an assessment should be made. All owners are encouraged to attend.
